06 · Why it exists

I spent years as a director and DOP, and the same thing happened on every job: the frame I needed lived in my head, and nowhere I could search.

It was in a film I half-remembered, a screenshot on an old drive, a tab I'd closed. Reference work meant rebuilding the same library from scratch, every pitch, every time.

Hold My Frame is the tool I wanted - a visual archive you can search the way you actually remember images. Built for the moment between a feeling and a frame.

For almost ten years, I've been working as a freelance treatment designer and visual researcher on international pitches. For me, a script becomes tangible the moment you find the right image. Fast.

Years of searching Vimeo, pulling stills, cutting loops and assembling references by hand shaped how I work. We wanted to streamline that process.

Hold My Frame is a curated database of high-end commercial film we've kept exclusively to ourselves until now. The workflow is the one we wanted for ourselves: find, refine, organize and share the right references faster.

Before you ask.

What's in the catalog?

2,634+ commercial films - 349,260+ frames, searchable at scene level. The catalog skews toward advertising cinematography from brands directors, DOPs and agencies already reference.

Can I upload my own footage?

You can search by a reference image to find similar looks in the archive. Hosting your own footage library is not part of the product today.

What about image rights and licensing?

Hold My Frame is a reference and search tool. Frames are for visual research and pitching; it does not grant licensing or distribution rights to the underlying films.

Is it open to everyone?

Hold My Frame is in public open beta. You can create an account and start now; features, limits and workflows may change as the product improves.

How do plans and billing work?

Free is 0 in the selected billing currency. Pro and Pro+ are monthly or annual, with annual pricing discounted.

What about Pitch Studio?

Pitch Studio is in active development as a Pro+ add-on. It is expected at no extra cost for Pro+ users once it is ready, while features and workflows may still improve during the public open beta.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes - search, browse and review work on mobile. Heavier project and presentation workflows are best on a larger screen.
